Usable for Christ

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning family, friends, and visitors,

Happy Monday to you all!  I pray that you had a blessed weekend in the Lord.

Thought for the day: Usable for Christ

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (New King James Version)

4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.

Take a moment to think about how useful you are to Christ.  Are you working in your spiritual gifts?  Are you serving in ministries that will enhance the gifts that God gave you?  Or are you useless for Christ?

I’ve come to realize there are a lot of Christians who are useful to so many things but useless for the things of the Lord.  They are articulate, educated, well manner, full of ideas and luster for life, motivated, and driven, but for all the wrong things.  Have you ever noticed a Christian who will work for the world with all of their might but only give Christ second and third best?

There are so many believers who are walking around aimlessly.  They have these wonderful gifts but they are unable to tap into their full potential because they have not allowed themselves to be USABLE FOR CHRIST!  You know who I am talking about:  The woman who sits next to you at church has a great voice and will belt out a secular song in the street in a minute, but won’t allow her voice to be used for Christ.  That young woman who is steady “pop locking and dropping it” on the dance floor at the club has not allowed her dance steps to be transformed and used to praise dance for the Lord.  Or that young man who speaks with authority and purpose on his job and in his home has not considered the possibility that God has called him to preach, speak, or teach His people.  Are you usable for Christ?

Consider this, the things that you are good at and even great at are so phenomenal that you could not have possibly developed them on your own.  God thought enough of you that He poured Himself into each one of the gifts that you have.  Instead of using them for the world, use them for the One who gave them to you in the first place.

I pray that you have a blessed day.  Make sure you are usable for Christ!

Wow.. this is so true.. I personally know of a individual who has not been in church because they choose to work each Sunday not only their schedule, but anyone else’s who wants a day or weekend off! We have to get our priorites in line with giving God and the church quality time in service to him,

  2. I agree Tricia. I know people who make every excuse in the world to why they can not serve at church or even in their community but will rearrange their life and schedule to accomodate someone else or even themselves…. Put God first and everything else will fall into place!!!

    The Word for this Season:
Now! not tomorrow, not after the next bible study or service, not when you feel perfected,

Pray each morning whom God wants you to bless today. A family member, a fellow worker, some one you talk to on the way to work! And Bless them in some way according to your gifts. As big as prophecying over them to just encouraging them in the Lordl.

In this way we begin to activate the giftings in other Christians and ourselves. Turn their mind ON where they were TURNED OFF before,,,

For non-believers treat them special! Be known by your hospitality, your generosity. Be ready to help.Take an interest in their lives, Real interest. Increase your level of interest and compassion till they say of you!.” WOW! He’ really interested in my situation….. in me as a person! And when the day comes they need compassion, a solution in a hopeless situation, they will call on you and consider our God… our Provider!

  4. Funny this is speaking to me directly I work and go to school and have a family and people keep asking me about joining the choir again but I have every excuse in the book number one being tired due to being busy every day of the week except the night of choir rehersal so please pray that God gives me the strenght to walk in his will

    • I will definitely be lifting you up in prayer. Sometimes we think we are too busy but when we make God and serving His people a priority He tends to give us that extra dose of strength and energy to get through the day. (I can hear you singing for the Lord now 🙂
