Good morning! Happy Thursday to you all!
TFTD: His commandments preserve my life
Psalm 119:90-93 (New International Version)
90 Your faithfulness continues through all generations;
you established the earth, and it endures.
91 Your laws endure to this day,
for all things serve you.
92 If your law had not been my delight,
I would have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget your precepts,
for by them you have preserved my life.
God is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. The faithfulness of God will flow through every generation. There will always be someone to speak of how good God is. Everything about God will last; His love, his patience, his kindness, his grace and mercy, his forgiving heart, his wisdom, and so much more. The question is will you recognize them and live for Him?
Psalm 119:93 says, “I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.” Precepts are instructions or commandments. Life can be much easier than we make it if we would follow God’s commandments and instructions. How many people can testify that because of God’s instructions your life has been preserved; maintaining safety from injury or harm?
Look at God’s commandments as life preservers in the sea of a troubling world. When you get tempted to swim in the deep in, grab a hold of God’s commandments and swim safely to shore. When the world sells hate and un-forgiveness remember that God instructed us to forgive our brothers and sisters and love them because He loves us. When the world tells us to rely on things we can remember that God told us to cast our cares upon Him.
God knew what He was doing when He put commandments in place. He knew what he was doing when He instructed us to love our neighbors and enemies, help the poor, speak slowly and listen. We make life more difficult when we don’t adhere to the will of God. We place a strain on our life when we think our way is better.
I want to encourage you to never forget the precepts of God. It’s because of them that He has preserved your life.
Have a blessed day.
