Determined to finish

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning!  Happy Thursday to you all!  Remember, never get so big-headed that you forget who carried you to your destination.  I am nothing without God so I’ll praise Him every chance I get.

TFTD: Determined to finish

1 Chronicles 28:20 (NKJV)

20 And David said to his son Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God—my God—will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

I love reading God’s word.  It brings so much clarity, insight, confirmation and peace into my life.  It even brings correction whether I like it or not, God’s word is always right on time.

I am determined to finish.  How about you?  Are there things that God has placed on your heart that you’ve started, but somewhere along the way you slowed down, took a break or perhaps you gave up on it?  We’ll I want to encourage you to get back in the race and finish.

Allow me a moment to break down 1 Chronicles 28:20.  It says,  “Be strong and of good courage, and do it;” When God calls you to do anything in life, go knowing that you are strong in Christ and that you can be brave.  You are a warrior!  Get up and like NIKE says, “JUST DO IT!”

“do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God—my God—will be with you.” You have nothing to fear when you are on your journey because God is always with you.  This is the assurance we need.  To know that God is with you, fear can be thrown out the window.  We know in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”  Since we know this we can walk with confidence that we will finish strong.

“He will not leave you nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord. It’s awesome to know that the Lord will not leave you nor forsake you, UNTIL you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.  Do you understand that God is with you every step of the way.  When your desires become God’s desires, He wants to see every task through to the end.  And after you have completed all that God has called you to do on this earth, He still won’t leave you because He will call you back home with Him!  God gets the glory when you are determined to finish what He has placed on your heart!  So you see, on earth you win and in heaven you win with God on your side!!!

Are you determined to finish?  Are you determined to praise God through the ups and downs?  Are you determined to be strong and be of good courage?  Are you determined to put fear aside and push towards your destiny?  Are you determined to give God all the glory and the honor?  Are you determined to FINISH?

I challenge you to dust yourself off and continue on your journey.  God is always with you!  Trust in the Lord and allow Him to be your strength.  There is no time for excuses.  Decide that you are determined to finish what God has started in you!

Have a blessed day!

  1. I am going to finish! Amen! Very timely post for me as today I picked up my project for Him again, the one that I have been procrastinating over for too long. Today I am inspired, and tomorrow I will praise Him for whatever He brings. I am on the journey oh yes indeed! Bless you and thanks 🙂
