Good afternoon! Happy Monday to you all!
TFTD: He is faithful to forgive
1 John 1:9 (NKJV)
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
As we approach Easter Sunday or better yet Resurrection Sunday, I can’t help but be drawn to the many sacrifices Christ has made for a sinner like myself. Through the beatings, the ridicule, the taunting, the lies, the torture, the pain, and the crucifixion, Jesus Christ remained faithful to forgive me of my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. How many of you would take the punishment that belong to someone else and then after you take their punishment still forgive them of their sins?
I tell you, I am amazed by Jesus. I have a tough time apologizing to people for something I didn’t do, let alone be punished for something I didn’t do and then turn around in love and forgive them. Please! That doesn’t even sound normal. I’m so glad Jesus was not like man. Though He was here in the form of man, He didn’t take on the selfish persona of man. Jesus is so awesome that He suffered, bled and died for all of your sins and mine. And He did all of that to put us back in right relationship with God the Father.
So, Jesus suffered a fate that should have belonged to us, all so that we could come to Him and confess our sins and He would forgive us! ISN’T THAT UNBELIEVABLE! I don’t know about you, but I love that Jesus loves me.
No one on earth can love you like Jesus Christ.
You may be caught up in sin right now and feel like no one will forgive you or take you back, but Jesus is faithful to forgive. You may feel like you have done something so terrible that it has tainted your image, but Jesus is faithful to forgive and will clean you up. You may feel like you are too far gone to get back in church, but Jesus is faithful to forgive you and take you back. No matter what you are going through, remember Jesus is faithful to forgive you.
I pray, if you don’t know anything else about Christ, that you know He is faithful to forgive you of your sins. Try Christ, He will never let you down!
