Death was necessary

Sunshine’s Reflections

Happy Good Friday to you all!  I pray you all have a blessed weekend.

TFTD: Death was necessary

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)

21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

John 3:16 (NKJV)

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4(NKJV)

For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

As we approach Resurrection Sunday, it’s important to know that Christ death was necessary so that we may have life and have it more abundantly.  When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:5-7), we were separated from God.  When sin entered the world we were no longer children of God, but His enemies.  The only way we could be reconciled or brought back together with God was through a sacrifice.  God loved us so much that He wanted to be reconnected with us.

Here we wronged God, yet He loved us so much that He sent His best sacrifice, His Only Son, to die for our sins.  Death was necessary.  It was necessary for Christ to be nailed to the cross with our sins and die for us.  The shedding of Jesus’ blood is what repaired the bond that was broken due to sin.  Jesus died a horrible death so that we could have access to the Father and all we have to do is confess our sins, believe that Jesus died on the cross and was raised on the 3rd day and we will be saved  (Romans 10:9).

Think about a telephone service provider.  Before sin we had an unlimited minute plan where we could talk to God all of the time.  After sin, our phone was cut off.  We no longer could phone God because there was an unpaid balance that was due and no man could pay it.  So Jesus came and paid the bill from the past, present, and the future (sins of the past, present, and future).  Jesus became the intermediary for us.  We should have been taken to court and charged a fine and even imprisoned because of our bad debt, but Jesus paid it all.  Because of Christ we can have access to God.  The only thing we have to do to reconnect our service is to dial Romans 10:9 “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Don’t let Jesus’ death be in vain.  Accept Him today and regain access to the One who loved you so much that He sent His Only Son to die for you.  Remember death was necessary so that you may live.

Have a blessed day and remember to share the love of Christ with others!
