Phrase of the Day: I must tell Jesus

Sunshine’s Reflections

Happy Monday to you all!  I hope you enjoyed your holiday break.  I know I did.

Today’s phrase: I must tell Jesus

Matthew 6:6 (New King James Version)

6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

The song writer says, “I must tell Jesus, All of my trials, I cannot bear these burdens alone” Raise your hand if you feel like you MUST tell JESUS.  As long as we live on this earth we will face trials and tribulations, persecution and judgement, disappointment and failure and so much more.  We can’t control what we may face, but we can control how we react to the challenges of life.

Stop running to everybody under the sun and making Jesus last.  When life throws you a curve ball, say “I MUST TELL JESUS”.  When people try to give you unsolicited advice on your situation tell them thank you, but I MUST TELL JESUS.  When people inquire about things that you are dealing with tell them that you MUST TELL JESUS

Sometimes we cause ourselves undue stress when we get other people involved in our situations and circumstances.  The first problem is we tell people with no power or authority all of our business without first consulting with God.  When you go to God in prayer He will direct you to the appropriate people (if necessary) to listen to you here on earth.  But when you go to people first you will end up going to people who do not have your best interest at heart.

When problems come and they will come say, I MUST TELL JESUS.  When people disappoint you, instead of complaining say, I MUST TELL JESUS.  When you become overwhelmed say, I MUST TELL JESUS.  Tell Jesus all of your desires and problems.  Tell Jesus all of your failures and disappointments.  Tell Jesus everything and tell Him FIRST.  Talk to Jesus more often and see how things will change in your life.  He may tell you to change something personally and He may even tell you to change some people you hang around.  No matter what He tells you, just TELL HIM FIRST!  Make God a priority in your prayer life.

GET IN THE HABIT OF TELLING JESUS!  HE HAS THE POWER AND AUTHORITY TO CHANGE THINGS AROUND.

I don’t know about you, but I MUST TELL JESUS!

Have a blessed evening.

Phrase of the day: Can’t nobody hold me down

Sunshine’s Reflections

It’s Friday!  Praise the Lord for carrying you safely to the end of another work week.  This week may not have been all that you hoped for, but you are alive and well and that is enough to PRAISE the LORD!

Today’s Phrase: Can’t nobody hold me down

Psalm 118:6 (New International Version)

6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

We live in a “crab in a barrel” society.  The days where people would help you to get ahead are few.  People are drenched with jealousy and disdain for one another.  A person cannot strive to do well without a mean old nasty “crab” waiting to pull them back into the barrel.

But I want to encourage someone today when people try to pull you down tell them “Can’t nobody hold me down!”  I’m feeling this phrase today, there are people who are trying to challenge your walk, your talk, your dream, your intelligence, your sanity, and your destiny there are people who are even trying to question your credibility, but tell them “Can’t nobody hold me down.”

Yes, I said “Can’t nobody hold me down.”  I know all of the English majors are squirming in their seats because I started this sentence off with a contraction, but when people try to rise up against what God has for you, you have to say how you feel.  CAN’T NOBODY HOLD ME DOWN.  God is on my side  and your side.

What can man possible do to you?  Let’s see, they can lie on you, talk about you, mistreat you, plot against you, misuse you, abuse you, hurt your feelings, make your cry, but they CANNOT HOLD YOU DOWN!  God is on your side.  God has a way of revealing the truth so that their lies will be dispelled, He can turn their negative words about you into admiration, He will cause them to treat you better than they treat themselves, instead of plotting against you they will begin helping you and GOD WILL GET THE GLORY.

Can’t nobody hold you down!  When folks try to discourage you say to yourself CAN’T NOBODY HOLD ME DOWN!

Have a blessed day.  I pray that Sunshine’s Reflections Blog is a blessing to you.  I enjoy every day God sends me a word to share with all of you.  Thank you for your continued support.

God bless.

Phrase of the day: God is sho nuff good.

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning!  Happy Friday to you all!

Today’s phrase: “God is sho nuff good”

Genesis 18:14a (New King James Version)

14 Is anything too hard for the LORD?

Excuse my poor grammar this morning, but there is no other way to say this phrase then to say, “God is sho nuff good”.  Is there anything too hard for God?  The answer is No.  In Him, we can do all things (Phil 4:13), that means we are capable of reaching heights that defy logic and all the odds.  God is sho nuff good.

You woke up this morning, God is sho nuff good.  You have a job to go to, God is sho nuff good.  You are healthy, God is sho nuff good.  You may have lost everything, but you have not lost your mind, GOD IS SHO NUFF GOOD!  You are the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13), God is sho nuff Good.  Through Him you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37), God is sho nuff good.

When I began thinking about who God is and who I am in Him, I could only say, “GOD IS SHO NUFF GOOD!”  He is so good that I cannot begin to praise Him enough.  I cannot begin to reverence His name and His being, but I will spend the rest of my life trying.  If God is all of that and more than tell someone today that “GOD IS SHO NUFF GOOD!”.  Say excuse my grammar, but GOD IS SHO NUFF GOOD!

I pray that you spend the rest of your life honoring the wisdom, the power, the love, the peace, the hope, the provisions, the miracles, and the entire being of God.

Have a wonderful weekend in Jesus name.  God is sho nuff good.

Phrase of the day: Don’t sweat the small stuff, rejoice in them

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning.  Happy Wednesday to you all!  Spend more time spreading praise and positivity and less time complaining and watch your surroundings change.

Today’s phrase: “Don’t sweat the small stuff, rejoice in them”

Zechariah 4:10a (New Living Translation)

10 Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin
As I have been growing in my spiritual walk, God has been opening my eyes to my past and current behaviors.  Why is it that we allow small negative things get us so worked up that we can not even function in our day?  But when small blessings come into our lives we barely even acknowledge them?

Don’t sweat the small stuff!  Stop becoming so consumed with who did not speak and rejoice in those who did speak.  Stop allowing yourself to be driven to rage when someone cuts you off on the highway and rejoice by making it home safely.  Stop magnifying the small negative things in your life.  Sometimes we cause our little mole hills to become mountains.

Don’t sweat the small stuff, rejoice in them.  Many of us miss out on opportunities to praise the Lord because we are looking for this supersized blessing overflowing from heaven.  We miss the small blessings that are staring us in the face daily.  I know you want a new car, but rejoice in the fact that you don’t have a car payment on your old car.  I know you wanted to graduate from college and get this new job, but rejoice in the job that you have been employed on for the last four years.

Take the energy you used to blow up at small problems and begin rejoicing over small blessings.  Don’t sweat the small stuff, rejoice in them.

Tell yourself, “I don’t have time to sweat the small stuff because I am too busy rejoicing over the small blessings that the Lord has given me.”

Food for thought: If you won’t praise God for the small blessings, how can He trust you to praise Him with the big stuff?

Have a blessed day.

Phrase of the day: “It’s a new day”

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning everyone!  What a  beautiful day in the Lord.  I blessed Him for His restoring power.  I bless Him for His ability to cover me and my family with peace.  I love the Lord!

Psalm 118:24 (New King James Version)

24 This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Today’s phrase: “It’s a new day”

There is a little thing called guilt that keeps us from moving forward in our Christian walk.  People remind you of what you use to do and who you use to be, the enemy whispers that you will never change, and you begin allowing the guilt of your past to keep you from your today and tomorrow.

It’s a new day!  Yes, a phrase that makes me smile.  When the troubles of yesterday overwhelm me and I lay my head down to rest.  I wake up and bless God because it’s a new day.  I don’t have to carry all of that stuff with me today.

When you are stressed out, emotionally drained, physically worn out, and even spiritually deprived from the day before look at the bright side and rejoice because it’s a new day.  This is the day that the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it.  Don’t hold on to the pressures and troubles of your past.  It’s a new day.  When someone ask how are you feeling today say, “It’s a new day and I will rejoice and be glad in it”.  When someone says you will never change, tell them “It’s a new day and I will rejoice and be glad in it”.

When you repent to the Lord it becomes a new day and a new chance to get things right.  Don’t allow the guilt of a sin that you have repented for become a crutch in your spiritual walk.  Don’t allow it to hinder you from moving forward in your spiritual destiny.  It’s a new day!

It’s a new day leave the worries of yesterday behind.  It’s a new day leave the repented transgressions of your past behind.  REJOICE!  It’s a new day!

I thank God for my new day.  I pray that you all have a blessed new day in the Lord!

Phase of the day: “I’m resting in the Lord”

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning everyone!  It’s Wednesday!  Take a minute to have a mid-week praise break!  Give God praise for getting you this far.

Psalm 37:7 (New King James Version)

7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Today’s phrase: “I’m resting in the Lord”

There are times in my life where I am just tired.  There are also times in my spiritual life that I am tired.  Have you ever felt exhausted by life and all that it brings?  Be honest.  There is no right or wrong answer.  We’ll I get exhausted.

As a working mother and wife who is active in church and in other activities, I often become tired.  Now as a believer, quitting something or giving up is not an option.  Have you been so overwhelmed with your projects and responsibilities that you have wanted to give up?  We’ll let me encourage you not to give up rather rest in the Lord.

There are times in everyone’s life where we need to rest.  To people on the outside you might look like you have given up or given in, but reassure them that you are resting in the Lord.  Remind yourself daily why you are living this life its to please the Lord.  Then remind yourself that it’s okay to rest as long as you rest in the Lord.  Rest all of your anxiety, fears, doubts, troubles, good times and bad times in the Lord.

When people question your decisions, tell them “I’m resting in the Lord”.  It’s good to rest in the Lord because when you rest in His arms you can spend time listening to what He has to say to you.  Never be so busy doing the things of God that you forget to build an intimate relationship with God.

Since we all have to rest at some point in time, we might as well rest in the safest place and that is in the LORD!

Have a blessed day resting in the Lord.

Phrase of the Day-With God all things are possible!

Sunshine’s Reflections

Thank God it’s FRIDAY!  Yes, you made it to the end of another blessed work week.  If you are currently seeking employment find comfort in knowing that God is working things out as we speak.  Give God some praise for He kept you and continues to keep you!  Hallelujah!

Philippians 4:13 (New King James Version)

13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Today’s phrase: With God all things are possible!

As I take my baby steps in my Christian walk I often run up against some challenges.  I’ve been a Christian for many years, but I say baby steps because there are areas of my faith that are new to me.  I’ve discovered that you are never too old or too saved to learn something about the Lord or yourself.

I know that as a believer I should not complain but there are times were complaining just seems like the easiest thing to do.  Yes, I said it.  Go ahead and re-read the above sentence.  If you are honest complaining is easy when you are going through.  It takes a special power to push past complaining and find the good in any situation.

Then I’m reminded that “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”  I don’t know what you are going through today, but I do know that “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”  I pray that this phrase will help turn your complaints into a voice with power and confidence.  When your bills out weigh your money say, “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”  When you are at the doctors and they say that healing is slim to none say, “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”  When friends mistreat you and people say that you will never make it say, “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”  When the job you are applying for exceeds your qualifications say, “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”

I don’t know about you, but I find strength in knowing that “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”  Be encouraged, we all are going to go through tough times, we are all going to face challenges, we are all going to have bad days and worst days, but “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”  Instead of complaining chose to use this phrase all day.  Allow it to speak to you until you believe it!

Have a blessed weekend and remember “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!”

Phrase of the Day- Make it happen.

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning!  Happy Wednesday to you all!  Rejoice in the Lord always!  I don’t care what you are going through never allow your situation or people to keep you from praising the Lord!  He is great all of the time!!!  Thank you Lord for not being like man.

Psalm 119:133 (New King James Version)

133 Direct my steps by Your word, And let no iniquity have dominion over me.

Today’s phrase Make it happen

Many of you know that I am a wife and a mother.  When I operate in these roles there are expectations that I have of my husband and of my children.  There are also expectations that they have of me.  There are task that require immediate attention and sometimes we allow procrastination to get us behind.  Quitting is not an option in our household.  So I often say, “Make it happen”.

As believers we have to have a “Make it happen” attitude.  God has called you to do something and you know what that task is and sometimes circumstances and even people will reach up to hinder the plan that the Lord has for you.  You begin worrying about what people might say or what people might think if you continue with this task.  I just have one question:  Who is directing your steps?

If the Lord is directing your steps, then MAKE IT HAPPEN!  NO SIN OR TEMPTATION, PERSON, PLACE OR THING WILL HAVE DOMINION OVER YOU UNLESS YOU ALLOW THEM TOO!

It’s crunch time and a deadline is right around the corner, don’t listen to the people who say you won’t make it.  MAKE IT HAPPEN!  You are new to the area and God called you to join a ministry at church, don’t allow your thoughts about what people might say about you keep you from joining.  MAKE IT HAPPEN!  Your money is looking funny and people tell you to stop tithing, but God honors the sacrifice of a grateful giver.  MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Giving up on what God placed in you is not an option.  Seek Gods direction, listen and recognize His voice, walk by faith, and MAKE IT HAPPEN!

I pray that you have a blessed day Making things happen for the Lord!

Phrase of the Day

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning everyone!  Happy Wednesday to you all!  I pray that you all have a day filled with Gods blessings.

2 Timothy 1:7 (New King James Version)

7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

I’ve been so blessed and excited to have this blog.  Many of you know that this started off as an email ministry back in 2004.  Something small that included a few lines of encouragement has grown into paragraphs, poems, and thoughts filled with hope, inspiration,  insight and the spirit of the living God.  The Thought for the Day (also known as TFTD), the Word of the Day (something new), and today I just want to try the Phase of the Day.

We all may have “catch phrases” that we live by or that we are known for.  I pray that this new section will catch on like wild fire and when you find your self in a rut you can tap into a “phrase” that will get you through.

Today’s phrase is “It’s not an option”.

Anyone who knows me knows that I live and breathe this phrase.  God has been faithful in everything that he has done for you and for me.  Giving up on God is not an option.  Giving up on your family is not an option.  Living for the enemy is not an option.  Being defeated by depression, anxiety, and stress is not an option!

Anything that goes against God and you excelling in Christ is not an option.

So when someone comes to you telling you that you are worthless and you will never make it.  YOU TELL THEM It’s not an option!  You serve a God that is stronger than anything that this world can throw at you.

When you begin believing that you can not make it-Tell yourself that Giving up is not an option!

God wants to use you and giving up and giving in is never AN OPTION.  Be blessed.

Have a blessed day.
