Good morning!  It is such a beautiful day.  Make sure you take time to enjoy Gods splendor.

TFTD: You are the company you keep

Acts 3:19 (New King James Version)

19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

Have you ever heard the saying “you are the company you keep?”  When I think about this saying I believe it’s saying that you will become the people you hang around.  That you will be changed by the company that you keep.  Perception is 95% of a person’s reality.  If you are hanging with someone who is up to no good then my perception says that you are up to know good as well.

Now I know that you may not agree with this deduction of reasoning but I would dare say that if you don’t like how people perceive you then you need to check your company.  I mean does it really make any sense to hang around the promiscuous young lady or vulgar mouth male day in and day out?  Does it help to constantly be consumed by people who are drinking, smoking, stealing, complaining, fighting, and lying if you are trying to live like the Lord?  I don’t think so.

It’s time to check the company that you keep.  If you want to be like Christ then you need to first link up with Christ.  When you enter into the presence of the Lord you will be changed.  Something refreshing comes over you.  Your facial expressions are no longer the same.  There is a certain pep in your step.  The speech from your lips is unusually encouraging.  There is a light in your eyes that was not there before.  Why?  Because you are now keeping the right company.  When you start hanging out with Christ, He will send like-minded people to surround you.

When your friends are blessed you are blessed.  People’s perception of you will be totally different.  They will say “WOW, he/she must love the Lord”  “They are always getting blessed” and so forth.

Food for thought:  If people’s perception of you says that you are anything other than a child of God I would urge you to check the company that you keep.  One rotten apple can spoil a bunch.  Cut it off at the root so that you can flourish as a child of God.

Have a blessed day.
