Christ is our cornerstone

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good morning!  It’s Thursday.  I am so tired today, but I am so thankful to God for waking me up this morning, clothing me, and getting me off in my right mind.  Always find a reason to praise the Lord.

TFTD: Christ is our cornerstone

Ephesians 2:19-22 (New King James Version)

19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Christ is our cornerstone.  When I went to Wikipedia to search the meaning of cornerstone I found this; a cornerstone or foundation stone- is a concept derived from the first stone set in the construction of a masonry foundation, important since all other stones will be set in reference to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure.
When we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior we become a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (New King James Version)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Since all things have become new we are redesigned in Christ.  Our old man has been torn down by the spiritual demolition team and we are rebuilt with Christ as our chief cornerstone.  Christ is the first stone set in the construction of our new selves.  We have been redesigned for kingdom work and kingdom building.  Jesus Christ is now our foundation.  It is so important for Christ to be placed first in our lives because everything else that is placed in our lives will be set in reference to the things of Christ.  As a result, this will determine the position of our entire life.  I love the Lord and how He gives divine revelation in simple principles.

You no longer have to walk this earth as a stranger, but know that you are a child of God.  You are someone important.  You are now a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit.  Do not take lightly your role or place in the kingdom of God.  Do not model yourself by the people who you hang around or the televisions shows that you see on television or even the books that you read, but model yourself by the cornerstone that has been placed in your life to shape your life.  Christ is our cornerstone.

Whenever you make a decision to go somewhere, hang with someone, try something, or join a group; be sure to build upon your foundation.  Your foundation is now in Christ and you do not need to mix unholy or unstable things or people on top of a sure strong foundation.  You are no longer the same, now that your old man has been demolished.  Never allow the people or the memories of your past make you believe that you are not a new creature.  When you accepted Christ, a sign went up around you saying UNDER CONSTRUCTION-NEW CREATION being laid and new building being constructed.  Every day we build onto our lives and we have to make sure we measure them up against Christ.

Christ is our cornerstone.

Have a blessed day in the Lord.  Remember He is your cornerstone.
