You say you love Him, but you don’t obey Him

Sunshine’s Reflections

Good afternoon.  Happy Friday to you all!  I pray your week has went well.

TFTD: You say you love Him, but you don’t obey Him

John 14:23 (NIV)

23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

During my Christian journey, I have observed many people who profess to love Christ, but their actions say something different.  The Word of God tells us that if anyone loves Christ they will obey his teaching.

Actions speak louder than words.

What do your actions tell God?  How can you say you love Him, but you don’t obey Him?

As believers, we have to make a conscious effort to follow the instructions of Christ.  How would you feel if your children constantly disobeyed you?  I doubt you would feel loved and respected.  Why would it be any different with you and God?  Although we are not perfect, it’s not an excuse to constantly be disobedient to His commandments and His word.  You can’t expect God to bless you if you continually live in sin.  You can’t constantly disobey God and then shout how much you love Him.  If you love Him, obey Him!

Take a moment to think about the areas in your life in which you are disobedient to God.  How long have you been rebellious in that area?  Would a person be able to tell how much you love Christ by the way you live?  I encourage you to work on your love relationship with Christ.  You can work on your relationship by obeying Him.

If you love Him, you will obey Him.

God bless.  Have a wonderful weekend!
