Sunshine’s Reflections

Good afternoon!  I pray your week is going well.

TFTD: God’s calling; will you answer?

Proverbs 8:32-34 (NKJV)

32 “Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
For blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 Hear instruction and be wise,
And do not disdain it.
34 Blessed is the man who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at the posts of my doors.

Back in the day, we didn’t have caller-identification.  Anytime the phone rang, someone in the house had to pick it up in order to find out who was calling.  With the advances in technology, caller ID came into the picture and changed our lives.  We were able to avoid the dreaded calls from the bill collectors and even ignore the call from that certain individual we didn’t want to talk to.  We gained control because of a little device that displayed the call before we answered.

I believe there is a spiritual caller ID.  This is a little device that shows us when God is trying to reach us.  Normally we watch the spiritual caller-ID when we know God is trying to compel us to do something, yet we keep resisting.  We have this overwhelming feeling that keeps nudging at our hearts, but we aren’t ready to accept it.  You know when God is calling you, He might come to you in a dream, He may send people to confirm a word to you, He places that thing on your heart and somehow you look at the spiritual caller ID and refuse to take the call.

Maybe God has been calling you to start a new ministry, go back to school, start preaching, start your own business, become a missionary, start your own church and the list goes on.  Unfortunately, we allow fear of the bigness of the vision to intimidate us.  We know when God is calling because He has confirmed the vision over and over again, but we keep ignoring Him as if He will just give up.  Well God is more persistent than a bill collector.  He loves you so much that He will continue to call you.  The question is, when will you stop running and answer the call?

How long will you call on God for things, but not answer Him when He calls you?  How long will you block His calls?  I don’t know what God is calling you to, but I do know He is calling you to greater and He is waiting for you to answer Him.  Will you answer?  Will you stop running?  Will you stop ignoring God?

Take a moment to examine your personal relationship with Christ and decide when you will answer the call.

Have a blessed day!
